The work of the Jersey City Public Schools is complex and requires a number of departments to ensure that we provide all students with a great education.
Business and Finance
Oversees the budget, monitors financial matters, and ensures that operations are conducted safely, effectively and efficiently. This department includes: food services, facilities, and student transportation.
Curriculum and Instruction
Responsible for developing curriculum in all subject areas, which are aligned to both NJ and the Common Core State Standards while supporting teachers in teaching that curriculum to our students.
Early Childhood
a full-day educational program for 3- and 4- year old children living in Jersey City. A “mixed delivery” system ensures that eligible children have the opportunity to enroll.
Special Education
dedicated to the proposition that students with disabilities are entitled to a free and appropriate public education. We believe that all students can learn and benefit from instruction.
Student Life and Services
composed of numerous programs that address the scademic, emotional, and physical needs of our children. Some of the services provided are Adult Education, CASPER, Home Instruction, and Substance Abuse.
